Rescue Rehab Programme
Learning To Trust Again
Our six-week rehab course pairs nervous rescue dogs with one dedicated trainer. Sessions are short, quiet and full of chicken — building confidence through sniff walks, nose games and choice-based handling before any formal obedience begins.
The Challenge
Milo, a two-year-old shepherd mix, arrived too frightened to take treats from a hand. Standard classes with other dogs in the room would have flooded him, so we worked one-to-one in the woods at his pace.
Our Approach
Twice-weekly woodland sessions, a decompression garden at home, and coaching for his adopters on reading calming signals. By week five Milo was offering sits for strangers; by week six he graduated into a small group class.
The Outcome: A Dog Who Wags
Milo now greets visitors at the door and walks past traffic calmly. His adopters send Christmas cards every year — with muddy paw prints.
